Give As You Earn (GAYE)

Payroll Giving (or Give As You Earn) is a simple and tax-efficient way of making a difference. By making a regular donation directly from your salary, you can create hope for everyone with all types of cancer across Wales. 

As your donation is taken out before tax, a donation of £10 a month will only cost you £8. This will appear as 'GAYE' on your pay check.

Put it this way: Giving Through Payroll Giving s is like buying a discounted gift card. You pay less than the full value of the card, but it's still worth the full amount when you use it! With GAYE you give a little less from your paycheck each month to Cancer Research Wales, but it still counts as the full amount.

Below are three different options for GAYE: 

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase your gift by 25% at no cost to you, which means your gift will go further towards creating hope for people affected by cancer today, and transforming the future for the patients of tomorrow. 

Gift Aid is a government initiative that allows donations given to charity to be tax-free. So, for every £1 you donate, we can claim another 25p from the government. Once you’ve given your permission over the phone, or by completing our Gift Aid declaration form, we can claim the tax back on your donation. 

You qualify to Gift Aid your donations if you are a UK taxpayer and you pay sufficient income tax and/or capital gains tax to cover the amount of Gift Aid Cancer Research Wales will reclaim. It is your responsibility to pay the difference if you pay less tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year.

Small donations soon add up when lots of people are doing it, and every penny donated to Cancer Research Wales will be spent right here in Wales to change the future for people living with cancer.
