Book Volunteer - Rhiwbina
Support Cancer Research Wales by sorting, pricing, and displaying donated books in our retail shop. This role helps maintain a welcoming and well-organised book section that maximises sales and supports our vital research work.
Key responsibilities:
- Sort and assess donated books for quality, condition, and suitability for sale
- Research and price books appropriately, including identifying rare or valuable items
- Organise and replenish book displays to keep the section tidy, attractive, and easy to browse
- Rotate stock regularly and follow shop guidelines for unsold or damaged items
- Engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, offering assistance when needed
- Work as part of a team to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming shop environment
- Follow all Cancer Research Wales policies, including those related to health and safety, safeguarding, and data protection
Skills and Qualities Needed:
- A passion for books and reading
- Good attention to detail and the ability to identify quality or valuable items
- Friendly, reliable, and a good team player
- Willingness to learn and follow guidance
- Basic computer or internet skills (helpful but not essential)
