Customer Announcement: Changes Affecting Donations as of 6 April 2024

From April 6, 2024, a new Welsh Government law says that all charities, and business organisations must sort their waste for recycling

With these changes in mind, Cancer Research Wales has to make our customers aware of donations that we receive, specifically as to what we can and cannot recycle.

We have seen an increase in donations that have passed the point of being resold and therefore it is then our responsibility to dispose of them.

We would greatly appreciate if you would be able to take a moment to check your donated items and ask ‘Is this item in a saleable condition?’ if the answer is NO then we kindly request that you take the item to the recycling centre.

As a charity we are unable to dispose of unsuitable donations without incurring a cost, which undoes your kind and generous support for the charity.

We value every donation and without the community support we would not be able to fund the vital research that we do. If we have to refuse any donations, please do not feel offended as we only have the charity’s best interest at heart. If you are not happy with a refusal then please speak to the Manager of the store.

If you have any queries on donations, please do not hesitate to speak with our staff in person or by contacting us at:

Cancer Research Wales would would like to thank you for your continued support and understanding for this important matter.
