Professor Alan Parker

Professor Alan Parker leads the targeted therapeutic programme at the Wales Cancer Research Centre and is a world leader in the field of virotherapy (using viruses as targeted cancer treatments).

Having joined Cardiff University in 2013, Professor Parker has built a large research group dedicated to understanding and engineering viruses for the specific targeting of cancer. With numerous publications and a spinout company aiming to translate their work into the clinical setting, Professor Parker is at the forefront of this exciting area of cancer research.
