Must-see Cancer Research Wales fundraising events for your diary
Music and stand-up comedy nights
We’ve got some great entertainment events coming up soon that you won’t want to miss out on.
Cherish those we love
Following on the success of last year’s inaugural event, we’re now busy organising not one, but two Cherish concerts in Cardiff and Pembrokeshire.
Cherish is a musical evening to cherish those we love who have been affected by cancer while supporting Cancer Research Wales.
The Cardiff concert is taking place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama at 7.00pm on Friday 21 November.
In Pembrokeshire, the Cherish concert is at the Rhosygilwen venue in Cilgerran at 7.30pm on Friday 19 February 2027.
We also feel very lucky and proud to announce that our incredible ambassador, Mari Grug, will be hosting both events.
Stand-up comedy
And it’s our absolute pleasure to announce Cancer Research Wales’s first-ever fundraising comedy gig, which features the incredible Welsh stand-up comedian Robin Morgan.
Robin has appeared on the topical, satirical comedy programme Mock the Week and BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, as well as co-hosting the For Wales, See Wales podcast.
We’re excited to announce that the first act confirmed to appear on the bill alongside Robin is the incredible multi-award-winning Welsh comedian, writer and broadcaster Kiri Pritchard-McLean.
Robin Morgan & Friends is taking place at the Richard Burton Theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama at 6.00pm on Sunday 15 November, and is suitable for people aged 14 and over.
Support our life-saving work
“Last year’s Cherish event was a great success, with performances by artists including Bronwen Lewis, Rhydypenau Primary School choir, Côrdydd and Lucy Clarke, and of course, the fabulous Mari Grug,” said Lisa Buckley, Head of Income Generation at Cancer Research Wales.
“We’re organising an exciting line-up for the Cardiff and Pembrokeshire events and we’ll shortly be announcing the fabulous artists who’ll be appearing on the bill, so buy your tickets soon and help support our life-saving work,” added Lisa.
Laughter is so important
“A comedy fundraiser is new ground for Cancer Research Wales, and laughter is such an important part of life, especially when we’re faced with challenging times, so I’m very glad that we’re able to stage this gig.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Robin for agreeing to host and appear at our first stand-up comedy fundraiser, and for opening up his contacts book to get some of his comedy chums, including the incredible Kiri Pritchard-McLean, along to perform for us too,” added Lisa.
“It’s going to be a night to remember, so make sure you get your tickets today and a seat at one of the best comedy nights you’ll see this year, while supporting cancer research in Wales,” concluded Lisa Buckley.
